Who I Am

My name is Christopher Gladstone Booth

I grew up in East Mt. Airy. The son of a teacher. Both of my parents consistently praised the value of education. Spent my Saturdays at the Christian Street YMCA. Graduated from W.B Saul High School.

I’m a graduate or Morehouse College, the renowned HBCU whose alumni include Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I’ve experienced the power of education. That’s why it’s one of my areas of focus.

I am former Federal Government employee. I worked for the Department of Agriculture, Department of Defense, and International Technology Services Division.

I retired to take care of my parents. After their passing I was inspired to enter the classroom where I have been for the past six years in various parts of the city.

I have seen the system up close, and that has ignited my passion and activism. I am a committee member in the 22nd Ward 21st Division in Philadelphia. I make sure the people of Mt. Airy are aware of and have access to city services.

I will bring to the political stage my long-term experience in government, my love for children and improving their life chances in education and my love for our city. Given my background in government and education, I will work with City Council members to help resolve some of the issues facing this city.

Philly should work for Philadelphians!
